Basement Update: Goodbye sewer smell!

July 12, 2011

Perimeter showed up at 9:00AM this morning with a truck, a jack hammer, two shovels, a couple of buckets and a few strong young men to begin the demolition of the floor. I left for an hour while they were jack-hammering the concrete floor. It was too loud to get anything done in the house.

They busted through the concrete and began digging into the dirt floor beneath the house. The are removing the debris in buckets, hand carried up the stairs. The trench they’ve made stretches from the man hole to the sump pump in the corner.

You can see the large sewer pipe in the hole on the left. The storm water was overflowing into this pipe

I protected everything in the basement with heavy duty plastic
